After the meeting between the Government and the representatives of the different federations, it was decided that from Friday to Tuesday only professional soccer championships will be played.
The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) published an official note on the website, stating that Matches referring to the Portuguese Championship, Futsal and Women’s League will not be played from October 30 to November 3 “in view of the existing public health context” and also due to “the measures dictated by the Government through the publication of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 88-B / 2020”.
The federative body also points out that this postponement of the games also applies to other modalities: “The decision to suspend non-professional sports activities was reaffirmed by the Government to the sports federations this Thursday and the FPF asks for a better understanding of all in sense to fulfill it. “In other words, in addition to the district championships and non-professional soccer, there will be no basketball, handball, volleyball and roller hockey games.
Only professional football, Liga and Liga Portugal 2 championship matches will be played.

“For the knowledge of Ordinary Members, Clubs, Sports Societies and other interested parties, we inform that, in view of the existing public health context and the measures dictated by the Government through the publication of Resolution of the Council of Ministers no. 88-B / 2020, which defines special measures applicable to the municipalities of Felgueiras, Lousada and Paços de Ferreira in the context of the situation of calamity, and of the Resolution of the Council of Ministers n. 89-A / 2020, which determines the limitation of movement between the different municipalities of the continental territory in the period between 00:00 hours on October 30 and 06:00 hours on November 3, 2020, decides to change the next round of the events currently organized by the FPF.
To that extent, games scheduled on the dates mentioned above will not take place and the new dates will be indicated in due course.
