There is a new outbreak of Covid-19 in the Beja Hospital. There are eight cases of contagion: six nurses and two operational assistants from the Medical Service, the General Emergency Service and the Endoscopy Service of the Beja Hospital.
The eight health professionals were immediately placed in isolation at their home.
The evaluation carried out by the Public Health Unit determined the active surveillance of 42 health professionals, including doctors, nurses, and operational assistants.
This outbreak is related to a first case of a patient hospitalized in a non-Covid apartment, which resulted in five more cases.
All professionals on that floor were evaluated, showing negative results, and all patients are evaluated before admission.
The services in question have adapted their mode of operation to this reality, given the number of professionals absent from active surveillance, and no services or hospital beds have been closed.
The Digestive Endoscopy Unit closes today and tomorrow due to disinfection.
