Gustavo Carona, an intensive care doctor at the Pedro Hispano Hospital and a member of the Médecins Sans Frontières organization, published a video on social networks in which he revealed that he rejected an invitation to participate in the TVI program ‘Cristina’s Day’.

The doctor begins by explaining that the production informed him that he would have to go to the studio, and preferably bring his mother, to talk about the “intensive care experience” in times of a pandemic. Gustavo begins by saying that “he is not interested in contributing to soap operas”, because “it is time to inform and not tell stories.”

Gustavo admits that the invitation is “representative of the total disorientation we are seeing at this moment” and “the misunderstanding of the challenge we are going through.”

“This is happening. If we don’t understand this, if we want to tell stories, let’s go after morons, deniers, relativists and conspiracy theories, if we want to go after these phenomena, we will regret it. This is happening right now.”

Porto’s doctor says “this will break out” if the pandemic is not taken seriously. “This is not the time to question the health authorities. This is not resolved in hospitals, this is resolved upstream of hospitals. There is nothing we can do in hospitals to control the pandemic. This is a health problem public, it is a problem of civil society, it is a problem of our collective behavior ”, he warns.
