“I had no symptoms, so I barely felt the virus, but obviously what I realized is that we are mired in collective ignorance (…). Today, our challenge is mainly to look at the causes of this virus,” said the Minister. , in his first face-to-face meeting, after testing positive for the new coronavirus, which causes covid-19.
On the sidelines of a meeting with the leaders of the Porto Academic Federation (FAP), Manuel Heitor told Lusa that on Monday he had been tested for SARS-CoV-2 and that the result was negative.

The minister defended that the “only real battlefield” to combat covid-19 is “knowledge” and that the new coronavirus, when it is transmitted from an animal to a human [doença zoonótica], is a sign of the imbalance in which we live.
