The departure of the fans from the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve, where the Formula 1 Portuguese Grand Prix took place this Sunday, was marked by some confusion in the flow of traffic. Two hours after the end of the race, there were still long lines at the starts.

“This was poorly organized in terms of access. In the morning, it took me more than an hour to walk 17 kilometers from Portimão to here and I barely saw the match, and now I’ve been queuing for more than half an hour to get out of here and catch the match. A22 ”, he referred to JN, João Santos, who came from Lisbon to attend, for the first time, a Formula 1 race.

The JN noted, on the ground, the difficulties to leave the area of the racetrack, despite the efforts of GNR in trying to organize the different lines. At 5 in the afternoon there were still people who had not been able to reach the entrances to the A22 and the Estrada Nacional 125, many of whom still have a long way to go to get home.

But the criticism did not stop there. António and Diogo Caria, father and son, respectively, came from Lisbon to attend the event and confessed to JN that they left with some “bitterness”.

“There are no options to eat, the accesses are terrible and the parking lots on the ground do not match the grandeur of this circuit,” said the father.

The same complaints were shared by Filipe Pinto and Joel Martins, two friends from Vila Verde, whom JN encountered at the end of the race. “In terms of entertainment, very good, but the logistics are not enough. We have to leave the food in the car and always go in and out if we want to eat, ”they said.

Finally António Martins, from Vila Nova y Gaia, drew attention to the difficulties in leaving the track, leaving a reflection: “If this were the case with 28 thousand spectators, I wonder when the pandemic will happen and there is an event with the maximum capacity , which is triple “.
