Official PSP source confirmed to CM that there are several cases of police returning to work still infected with Covid-19, by order of the General Directorate of Health.
Our newspaper questioned the same source after a complaint, made by the Police Professionals Union (SPP), that an agent of a Rapid Intervention Team of the Lisbon PSP Command returned to work this Friday even after carrying out two tests positive for the new coronavirus.
According to the SPP, he is a professional who works daily with between 6 and 7 colleagues, inside a truck, on a patrol reinforcement mission.
The source contacted confirmed this specific case, stating that the procedure is being common in PSP, in similar situations.
After ten days of confinement after the first positive test for Covid-19, and as long as the disease no longer shows symptoms, the patient will no longer be able to transmit the virus to other people. That is why the General Directorate of Health, following international recommendations, orders the return to work.
