“We will not grant this process any additional legitimacy by participating in a committee vote for this nomination just 12 days before the end of the presidential election,” said Chuck Schumer, the Senate Democratic minority leader, for whom “this it has been a fictitious process from the beginning ”.
The chair of the Judiciary Committee, Republican Lindsey Graham, guarantees that the party will move forward anyway, asking for a confirmation vote for Monday in the Senate.
