The districts of Évora, Faro and Beja will join those of Setúbal, Lisbon, Santarém, Castelo Branco and Portalegre, which from 12 noon will be under a red alert for rain, according to IPMA.

All eight districts are under red alert due to the forecast of sometimes heavy and persistent rains and occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms and the possibility of extreme wind events.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), the red notice for the eight districts will be in effect between 12:00 and 18:00 on this Tuesday.

The red warning corresponds to a meteorological situation of extreme risk. Faced with this situation, the IPMA recommends that people keep up to date with the evolution of meteorological conditions and follow the civil protection guidelines.

Mainland Portugal is under the effect of the Bárbara depression, which will lead to heavy rains, increased wind intensity with gusts of up to 100 kilometers per hour and up to 130 kilometers per hour in the mountains and maritime disturbances, especially on the coast. from the southern region.
