According to the Regional Health Authority, within the framework of the epidemiological investigation of a positive case reported on Sunday, a five-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman were diagnosed, diagnosed in contacts in the region. high risk.

The five-year-old attends a preschool education establishment, having identified a group of close contacts, composed of employees and students, who are in prophylactic isolation and laboratory research.

The epidemiological investigation and testing of close contacts to the case are ongoing.

Also diagnosed was a 57-year-old woman, resident in the Region, coming from an air connection with the Portuguese peninsula, who performed a negative test prior to shipment and whose test carried out from the sixth day gave a positive result.

A 53-year-old man recovers, bringing to 223 the cases recovered in the Region.

To date, 354 cases of infection with the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus have been detected in the Region, with 66 positive cases currently active, of which 42 on the island of São Miguel, 11 on the island of Terceira , one on the island of Graciosa, four on the island of Pico, five on the island of Faial, two on the island of Santa María and one on the island of Flores.
