As director of the SAD incarnate, Rui Costa will have the possibility, if Luís Filipe Vieira is reelected as president, to embrace the position of vice president, a situation that, he reveals, makes him extremely proud.
“The invitation that the President extended to me is a great honor for me. Everyone knows my history at the club and they know how I feel about Benfica and how I live it. I came across Benfica at very different stages. I arrived when I was not yet nine years old, then led by President Fernando Martins. Then I came back, as a player, already with Luís Filipe Vieira as president and I am a witness to the evolution and recovery that was made. I know what Benfica was and is today. I know how much they respect us abroad and I know the admiration they have for our work. There must be memory and gratitude but, above all, recognition of the work that Luís Filipe Vieira and his teams did, including myself.
– We did not always agree and I promise that I will continue to be a great boredom but we always agreed in essence: the good of Benfica. I am proud to be part of this list and they can count on me for everything that improves the club ”, said Rui Costa.
