The lawyers emphasize that it “does not appear in the file.”

Rui Pinto’s lawyers requested this Thursday that a hard drive connected to the PLMJ law firm be declared non-existent for the purposes of evidence in the Football Leaks case.

Francisco Teixeira da Mota and Luísa Teixeira da Mota stressed that the accused was “surprised” by the existence of this device with 1 Tb [terabyte] capacity, after an intervention by the Public Prosecutor (MP), Marta Viegas, regarding the future hearing of one of the witnesses linked to the PLMJ.

The lawyers, permanently, demanded that the hard disk be declared “non-existent in evidentiary matter”, emphasizing that “it is not in the file” and defending the “procedural nullity” of its incorporation at this time. After submitting the request, the deputy asked for 10 days to comment.

Rui Pinto, 31, is responsible for a total of 90 crimes: 68 for improper access, 14 for violation of correspondence, six for illegitimate access, directed at entities such as Sporting, Doyen, PLMJ law firm, Portuguese Football Federation ( FPF) and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), and also for computer sabotage of the Sporting SAD and for extortion, in the tentative manner. This last crime concerns Doyen and was also the one that motivated the pronunciation of the lawyer Aníbal Pinto.

The creator of Football Leaks has been free since August 7, “due to his collaboration” with the Judicial Police (PJ) and his “critical sense”, but is, for security reasons, inserted in the witness protection program in a place undisclosed and under police protection.
