There are 24 new cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve

The Algarve has 24 more cases of Covid-19, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Tuesday, October 13, which has just been published.

The number of cumulative cases since the beginning of the pandemic in the Algarve region is now 2025.

In Alentejo, 32 more cases are reported today, in a cumulative total of 1677. These figures make the Algarve today the region of mainland Portugal with the fewest cases.

At the national level, the DGS registers 1,208 infected, somewhat less than yesterday, but the barrier of 1,000 daily cases has been surpassed again.

At the level of recovered, there are now 549 more, which brings the accumulated total since the beginning of the pandemic to 54,047. Active cases also increased, to 32,964 (643 more).

As for the deaths, there were 16 more since yesterday: 10 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 5 in the North and one in the Center.

Furthermore, it is in the North region where the situation continues to be more worrying, in terms of new cases. Today, 713 more cases were reported in this region, bringing the cumulative total to 33,660.

Even so, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo are the most affected regions, in accumulated numbers, which today reach 43,986 (plus 340).

They are followed by Centro (7176, plus 94), Alentejo (1677, plus 32), Algarve (2025, plus 24), Azores (300, plus 2) and Madeira (297, plus 3).

The number of people hospitalized rose again to 916 (plus 39). Of these, 132 are in intensive care (plus 4).

Currently, there are 50,291 contacts under surveillance, 1,447 more than yesterday.
