The same publication also reveals that as an agent of the PSP, the man acted as a trainer of security elements, being considered by all as an “excellent professional”, who ended up seeing his image fall with the accident.

There was a head-on collision between two cars, the ‘CM’ advances on the EN365, between Golegã and Azinhaga, in a straight line with “good visibility”. What happened was that one of the cars invaded the opposite lane and ended up colliding with the other, leaving both of them immobilized on each side of the shoulder, in the same direction.

The accident resulted in a fatal victim, a 78-year-old man who could not resist the injuries and died immediately, declaring death on the spot. The PSP agent was in the other vehicle suffering only minor injuries, according to the ‘CM’.

“The accident was managed and reported by the GNR, which, after the driver’s refusal to submit to the breathalyzer test, led to his arrest for a crime of disobedience,” explained the PSP, quoted by the newspaper.

Cavaco Silva, on the other hand, was “shocked” and “dismayed by the situation,” according to an official source in the office of the former head of state, cited by the ‘CM’. The agent had last been at chip service on Friday.
