The tax levied on vehicles with definitive community license plates attributed by other member states of the European Union is subject to provisional taxation under the rules of this Code. It should be noted that the Government it does not affect the percentage of reduction of ISV with respect to the displacement, but there are changes in the environmental component.
In the case of Environmental component, discounts range from 2% for cars up to one year to 70% if the car is more than 15 years old.
The reduction of ISV with respect to the environmental component is Portugal's response to the Brussels condemnation. Our country was forced to correct the ISV for second hand cars that are imported.
