Kam Jong-You could not hold back tears during a speech at a military parade, when he apologized for his failures during the pandemic of the new coronavirus.
The North Korean leader had to withdraw glasses to wipe away tears during his speech at a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the Workers’ Party.
“Our people put their trust in me, as high as the sky and as deep as the sea, but I couldn’t keep up. I am so sorry,” he said, referring to moments like pandemic gives COVID-19-19, natural disasters or international sanctions.
After seeing the images, his main opponent, the leader of South Korea, said they were nothing more than “crocodile tears”.
