The Judicial Police, through the National Unit for the Fight Against Drug Trafficking, detained five men, two Portuguese and three foreigners, between 26 and 44 years old, strongly suspected of using private planes to transport cocaine from the United States. The operation “White wingIt took place in the last few days. The detainees are suspected of belonging to a transnational criminal organization dedicated to illicit drug trafficking.
“A large quantity of cocaine was seized, which if it reached the illicit distribution channels would be sufficient for the composition of at least 1,750,000 (one million seven hundred and fifty thousand) individual doses,” the PJ describes in a statement.
Thus, the PJ seized, in addition to some 175 kilos of the drug, an airplane, a twin-engine jet, which was used to transport the narcotic.
According to the statement released this Monday, it is the first police operation that, in our country, led to the seizure of an aircraft of this type, three of the accused were in preventive detention. The remaining two will be subject to periodic presentations.
