Algarve Has 43 New Covid-19 Cases, Says DGS

The Algarve has 43 more cases of Covid-19, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Sunday, October 11, which has just been published.

The number of accumulated cases since the beginning of the pandemic in the Algarve region is now 1974.

In Alentejo, there is one more death to regret. Even so, the increase in the number of infected people remains below 10 (plus 7, cumulative total of 1,630).

At the national level, there are more than a thousand new infected in a single day, 1,090, but much less than yesterday, when the absolute record of new daily cases was broken in Portugal.

At the level of recovered, there are already more than 384, bringing the accumulated total since the start of the pandemic to 53,187. Active cases also increased, to 31,397 (plus 693).

As for deaths, there were 13 more since yesterday, the Alentejo, six in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and another six in the North.

Furthermore, it is in the northern region where the most worrying situation remains, in terms of new cases. Currently, 625 more cases have been reported in this region, bringing the cumulative total to 32,345.

Even so, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo are the most affected regions, in accumulated numbers, which today number 43,141 (plus 329). It is followed by the Center (6995, plus 82), the Algarve (1974, 43 more), the Alentejo (1630, plus seven), the Azores (295, after correcting the historical series, according to DGS) and Madeira (284, plus 5 ).

The number of people hospitalized rose again, to 843 (plus 12). Of these, 124 are in intensive care (plus 2).

Currently, there are 48,413 surveillance contacts, 811 more than yesterday.
