The Algarve has one more death and 8 new cases of Covid-19, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Saturday, October 10, which has just been published.

The number of deaths in the Algarve, due to Covid-19, has risen to 21 since the start of the pandemic, according to data from the DGS. The total number of cases, in turn, rose to 1931 (+8 than yesterday).

In neighboring Alentejo, today there are also 8 new cases, for a cumulative total of 1623.

These are, however, data that are far from the national reality. Currently, 1,646 new infections have been registered throughout the country (the highest number in history), and the regions of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (+546) and the North (+920) concentrate the majority of cases.

They follow, in number of new cases, but far from the increase observed in the other two regions, Center (+155), Algarve (+8), Alentejo (+8), Madeira (+7) and Azores (+2).

This increase in new infections also corresponds to an increase in the number of hospitalized patients: there are now 831 (+20), but there are three fewer people in intensive care (122).

In terms of deaths, there were 5 across the country, and the total increased to 2067. There were 2 deaths in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 2 in the north and 1 in the Algarve.

The number of recovered has also increased: there are 639 more recovered, nationwide, for a total of 52,803.

However, since the number of new infections has supplanted that of recovered, active cases have increased again sharply: there are currently 30,704 active cases, 1002 more than yesterday.

Finally, there are 47,602 people under surveillance, down 119 compared to the day before.
