Donald Trump refuses to participate in the second televised debate with Joe Biden on the November presidential elections in the United States, to maintain the virtual format announced this Thursday morning by the bipartisan commission that organizes them.

“I will not waste my time in a virtual debate. This is not a debate, ”he announced in an interview with Fox Business Network.

The commission had made it official about an hour ago that the next debate between Trump and Biden, Republican and Democratic candidates for the White House, would take place in a “virtual” format. The incumbent president, recovering from covid-19 in the White House, after spending several days in a hospital, took time to close the door to that possibility.

Donald Trump announced a week ago via Twitter that he contracted the disease. Biden had already said that the debate should not occur “if he [Trump] I still have covid ”. Despite the diagnosis, Trump maintained an enthusiastic speech regarding the confrontation with Joe Biden. “It will be great,” wrote the 45th president of the United States, this Tuesday, on Twitter.

The duel was scheduled for October 15, Thursday of next week. Candidates should now debate “remotely”, from “separate locations”, while the moderator and participants / audience would be in Miami, as originally planned.
