Azores registers six new positive cases in the last 24 hours

All the cases come from air connections with the Portuguese peninsula and were diagnosed through a screening carried out upon arrival in the Region.

The cases diagnosed on the island of São Miguel correspond to individuals of the female sex, between 22 and 34 years old, not residents of the Region.

On the island of Faial, two 29-year-old individuals living in the Region, a man and a woman, who live together, were diagnosed.

The case detected on Terceira Island refers to a 26-year-old male resident in the Region.

There is the recovery of a 35-year-old male on the island of São Miguel, increasing to 199 the number of people recovered in the Region.

Thus, so far, 324 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes the disease Covid-19, have been detected in the Region, with 73 active positive cases currently, of which 39 on the island from São Miguel, 13 on Terceira Island, five on Graciosa Island, six on Pico Island, six on Faial Island, one on São Jorge Island, two on Santa María Island and one on Flores Island.
