Regarding the profile of the victims, eight were men and six women. The most affected age group was again over 80 years old, with eight of the 14 deaths (six men and two women). Two victims were between 70 and 79 years old (one man and one woman) and four between 60 and 69 (one man and two women). This means that, although the majority of the victims are men, the women who died were younger, half were between 60 and 69 years old.

Contrary to the deaths, the number of cases has decreased: the DGS confirmed 427, 307 less than the previous day. It is the third consecutive decline and the lowest recorded since September 15. There are now 80,312 people who have tested positive for the new coronavirus in Portugal. The number of active cases now stands at 27,568, 155 more than yesterday.

The North was the most affected region, with 231 confirmed cases (54%) in the last 24 hours. Lisbon and Vale do Tejo followed, with 131 cases, around 31% of new infections. The Center had 35 infections; the Alentejo 15; and the Algarve nine. Madeira registered five new cases, between Monday and Tuesday, and the Azores one.
