According to the source, the 86-year-old woman was found by firefighters inside one of the hotel rooms after more than six hours of searching.

Firefighters made a “thorough search” of the building and found the old woman “locked in one of the rooms,” according to the source.

The old woman, who suffered from dementia, belongs to a group of 19 users who tested negative at the Santa Casa da Misericórdia and was accommodated at the Hotel São Lazaro, in the city of Bragança.

The team that accompanies the users noticed the absence of the old woman around 4:30 pm and two hours later the authorities were alerted that in the field search operation ten elements and four vehicles, supported by means of the institution.

On Saturday, Misericórdia de Bragança transferred 19 users who tested negative for the new coronavirus to the hotel, keeping in their homes those who are also negative, but are bedridden.

The final number of people infected with the new coronavirus in the three homes of Misericórdia de Bragança is 115 cases, which corresponds to a third of the total analyzed between users and employees, all of them asymptomatic, according to local authorities.

Among the 170 users of the three homes, there are 100 positive elderly and of the 140 workers, 15 are also positive.

A rapid intervention shelter with two nurses and four aides began operating today to fill the staff shortage.

The mayor of Bragança, Hernâni Dias, said today that the users and employees of the remaining Misericórdia offices, which correspond to about 700 people, will now be evaluated in the coming days, including the more than 300 children from the kindergartens and the school. basic.

This outbreak began with a first positive case of an employee on September 23 and a week later tests began in the house where she worked, Santa Isabel, followed by the rest of the week.
