This Sunday, Portugal registered the existence of a total of 2,005 deaths and 79,151 cases of covid-19 in Portugal since the start of the pandemic. There are 10 more deaths and 904 more cases than on Saturday.

The prime minister warns that care cannot be relieved and that “great discipline” is needed, especially since the country cannot return to confinement, as it did in March.

“It is exclusively in our own hands that we comply with the basic rules. If we do not comply, we will have dramatic situations ”, he warns.

Regarding the capacity of the National Health Service, the Prime Minister says that despite the significant evolution of the pandemic, pressure from the NHS has remained “stable”.

Last DGS Assessment

The number of deaths went from 1,995 to 2,005, 10 more than on Saturday: 8 in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region and 2 in the northern region. The number of infected people increased from 78,247 to 79,151, plus 904 cases.

In the last 24 hours there are 14 more patients hospitalized in wards, totaling 682. In intensive care there is 1 less patient than yesterday, now 105 patients are hospitalized.

The bulletin also indicates that health authorities are vigilant 46,348 contacts, 120 more compared to Saturday, and 362 patients were reported to have recovered.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal, in March, 50,207 people have recovered from the disease.
