Madeira currently has three new cases of infection with the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of people infected since the start of the pandemic to 238. The three new cases are imported from the United Kingdom.
According to the information provided by IASAÚDE, the Region still has five recoveries, for which the total number of people recovered amounts to 171. Madeira now has 67 active cases, of which 57 are imported cases identified in the context of the activities of surveillance implemented. at Madeira airport and 10 are cases of local transmission.
Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 38 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, 28 in their own accommodation and a patient in the hospital of the Polyvalent Unit dedicated to COVID-19 at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
There are still nine new situations to be reported that are being studied by the health authorities. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
