Since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 2,005 deaths and 79,151 cases of infection, with 26,939 active cases, 532 more than on Saturday.

The DGS indicates that of the 10 registered deaths, eight occurred in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region and two in the North region, where the highest number of infections also occurs.

Regarding hospital admissions, the bulletin reveals that in the last 24 hours there are 14 more admissions, with 682 people hospitalized.

There are 105 people in intensive care, one less than the day before.

The bulletin also indicates that the health authorities have 46,348 contacts under surveillance, another 120 in relation to Saturday, and that it was reported that 362 patients recovered in the last 24 hours.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Portugal, 50,207 people have recovered from the disease.

In the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, 316 new cases of infection were reported, and the region accounted for 40,244 cases and 789 deaths.

The northern region now registers 490 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection, with a total of 28,584 and 893 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the Central region there were 69 more cases, representing 6,423 cases and 265 deaths.

In Alentejo, 11 more cases of infection were registered, with a total of 1,566 and 24 deaths.

The Algarve region has reported 15 more cases today, adding 1,807 infections and keeping the 19 dead.

In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, two new cases were registered in the last 24 hours, totaling 284 infections and 15 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

Madeira registered one more case in the last 24 hours, with 243 infections, with no deaths to date.

Confirmed cases are distributed in all age groups, with the highest number of infections between 20 and 59 years. The 40-49 age group has the highest value.

The new coronavirus has already infected at least 35,876 men and 43,275 women in Portugal, according to reported cases.

Of the total deaths, 1,004 were men, 1,001 women.

The highest number of deaths is still concentrated in people over 80 years of age.
