Two members of the Turin club staff tested positive for COVID-19.

The Juventus soccer squad, which includes Cristiano Ronaldo, and the technical team were placed in isolation, without hindering training and games, due to two positive cases of covid-19, the club announced.

In a statement, the Italian champion assured that contacts with the outside world are prohibited, after two club employees, who are not players or members of the technical team, tested positive for the new coronavirus.

Juventus explains that the health protocol now applied “will allow all those who test negative to train and play, but avoid contacts outside the group.”

The move comes at a time when Italian football is registering several cases of covid-19, with 17 infected players in the Genoa squad and two in Naples, who will face Turin on Sunday.

Next week, the European leagues will be stopped by commitments of selections, for what Cristiano Ronaldo is called.

The Portuguese team, which will start training on Monday, will face Spain on Wednesday in a private match at the José Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon, before playing two games for the Nations League in France, on the 11th, and again in Lisbon, against Sweden, on the 14th.

The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed more than a million deaths worldwide since December last year, including 1,983 in Portugal and 35,941 in Italy.
