STAYAWAY COVID is an application for mobile phones that aims to help the country in monitoring COVID-19. The application allows, in a simple and safe way, that each of us is informed about the risks of exposure to the disease, by following recent contacts.

The application arrived in August and cost around 400 thousand euros. Recent data reveals that the app has already been installed on 1.26 million smartphones.

Since its launch, the 'StayAway Covid' detection app has been installed on 1.26 million smartphones and more than 100 patients have used the tool to alert risky contacts.  The data was released by the president of the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS), who during the usual press conference on the COVID-19 pandemic in Portugal took stock of the first month of application.
Luís Goes Pinheiro, Undersecretary of State and Administrative Modernization, revealed that among the more than one million users, 107 codes have already been inserted into the application.  These codes are assigned by the doctor on the 'Trace Covid' platform every time a user tests positive for the new coronavirus.  The infected person then decides whether or not to enter the detection app to alert all recent risk contacts who also use 'StayAway Covid'. We know that this is an application based on the principle of freedom.  The freedom to install, the freedom to use, and the freedom to insert the code when provided by the physician.  “If they do, people who have been high-risk contacts in the last few days will not know who the person who entered the code was.  Your anonymity will be guaranteed


STAYAWAY COVID is an application for iOS or Android phones that aims to help the country track COVID-19.  The application allows, in a simple and safe way, that each of us is informed about the risks of exposure to the disease, by following up on recent contacts.
