“I’m fine, I think. Thank you all. LOVE !!!”, reads the first message shared by Donald Trump on Twitter.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, was transported on Friday afternoon (local time) to the Walter Reed Military Hospital, on the outskirts of Washington, as a precautionary measure, after having tested positive for covid-19.

“I think I am doing very well, but we will try to make sure things go well,” Donald Trump said in a video message posted on his Twitter account.

Trump, 74, meets several of the risk factors for developing more severe symptoms of the new coronavirus, due to his age and obesity.

Trump’s doctor, Sean Conley, said Friday that doctors were providing the president with a cocktail of experimental antibodies: vitamin D; famotidine, which is typically used to treat heartburn and acid reflux; melatonin, sleeping pills and aspirin.
