Faced with a possible suspension of home visits in the context of an aggravation of the pandemic, similar to what happened during the March and April closure, Graça Freitas was prudent in the face of a repetition of this decision.
“We have to weigh infection control and humanized security measures very well. We have to be very cautious; visits are not usually associated with transmission, because they are very controlled, sporadic and have very fixed rules. According to the Director General of Health, the country is currently “comfortable in relation to the number of elderly people who have been affected” by covid-19.
Graça Freitas highlighted the stability of the percentage changes in the different age groups, recalling that at this stage young adults are the population group most affected by the disease and that people over 70 years of age represent only 15% of those infected .
