Six more deaths and 888 infected by covid-19 in Portugal

In the last 24 hours, Portugal registered six more deaths and 888 new cases of the new coronavirus.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,983 people have died in Portugal and 77,284 have been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. In the last 24 hours, there are still 422 more recovered patients registered out of a total of 49,359 people who escaped from covid-19. There are currently 25,942 active cases, 460 more than the previous day.

The number of hospitalized patients (682) and in intensive care (107) does not register an evolution compared to yesterday.

According to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate General of Health (DGS) this Friday, the deaths to be registered are three women (two over 80 years old and one between 70 and 79 years old) and three men (two over 80 and one over 70 to 79 years).

Of the six deaths, five were registered in the Lisbon and Vale do Tejo region and one in the north.

Regarding the distribution of new cases, 381 were registered in Lisbon, 363 in the North, 82 in the Center, 50 in the Algarve, two in the Alentejo and five in the Azores and Madeira.
