AThe Algarve authorities are searching for a group of 17 illegal immigrants from Morocco who have reportedly fled the army barracks in Tavira, Algarve. Two have already been arrested and are currently in the custody of the Immigration and Border Service (SEF). The news is advanced by RTP3, realizing that the leak would have occurred at dawn on Thursday.

Contacted by Minute news, a PSP confirms the flight “of a large part” of the group of immigrants who arrived in the Algarve in September. One of the items was captured by the PSP overnight. The other is said to have been assisted by firefighters for breaking his foot during the escape.

A PSP sent additional clarifications to SEF, an authority with which Notícias ao Minuto has already contacted and is waiting for a response.
