Citizen Card: Delivery of 100 thousand in the "first phase"
According to JN, after October 31 to November 30, another 100,000 cards will follow the same route.  The other 150,000 are expected to be delivered by the end of the year.  In addition to the email, the IRN will also send an SMS from 915 692 970 to notify you of the delivery of the document.
Citizen cards will be sent by mail and will not be activated, something that will only be verified 48 hours later. Those who took care of the renewal or issuance of the document in the Espaço Cidadão can also present it there.

The measure, the result of the joint work of the government area of ​​Justice and Modernization of the State and the Public Administration, aims to respond to the growing number of citizen cards that were left due to the pandemic, it will cover national citizens of 18 or more residents in Portugal who requested and paid for the renewal of the Citizen Card.
