Preventive detention of the two alleged drug traffickers

The court ordered the preventive detention of the two people detained by the PJ, at Madeira and Funchal airports, suspected of drug trafficking.

The information was confirmed by the Judicial Police which, through the Madeira Criminal Investigation Department, identified and detained two men, aged 48 and 30, in flagrante delicto, for the alleged practice of the crime of drug trafficking.

According to the PJ, and according to the news published by JM online, the people were arrested at the Madeira airport and in the city of Funchal, with an amount of heroin that would probably correspond to approximately 23,200 individual doses.

Present before the competent judicial authorities, for the first interrogation, preventive detention was applied as a coercive measure.

The investigations are still in charge of the Judicial Police.
