The five-year-old boy, who fell on Monday from the ninth floor of a building in Tapada das Mercês, in Sintra, ended up dying.

According to a source from the PSP’s Lisbon Metropolitan Command, cited by the Observador newspaper, the boy had stayed at home with his sisters, aged six and nine, while his parents went to the supermarket. He ended up falling from a height of 25 meters, while playing on the balcony of the building, and went into cardiopulmonary arrest.

The boy was still transported to the Santa María Hospital in Lisbon, but ended up without resisting.
