Chris Grailey, 29, is admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a Manchester hospital due to COVID-19. The Briton, who believed himself “invincible”, decided to record a video from his hospital bed to ask people to take the virus seriously.
The man, who works as a sales manager, says he is one of many people who despised the virus and admits that he was one of the first to say that the new coronavirus was “bullshit.” Now, Chris, who is breathing with the help of an oxygen mask, confesses that he “does not know” if he will overcome the disease, but wants his case to be an example for other young people, before it is too late.
“I don’t know if I get away with it,” he began by saying, in a video sent to Manchester Evening News. I caught the virus in Tenerife, thinking that I was invincible, without a mask, ”he explained, saying that he lost his taste and smell during the trip and that upon his return his health worsened, eventually being diagnosed with covid-19.
“I paid the price. I have no other health problems. I do not want them to make the same mistakes as me,” he appealed. “I really want you to hear this message, because it can happen to anyone,” he said.
