«It is sad to finish a race this way. Conditions were tough and we expected to be competitive, but for that we needed to use the medium tire at the front. The temperature was quite low, so I needed a lap to cool down the tire. When I went left, I couldn’t help falling. It’s a shame because even if it had slowed down it would have been worse. The conditions were not good for the medium tire, but we had to do it to be a bit more competitive, ”he told the team’s website.
The Portuguese driver is already looking at the next race in France: «This is running. I hope we can get back to the top at LeMans, a home race for the team. I want to have a good race there, even qualifying for the championship, ”he also said.
