Which bank has the most customer complaints?

Complaints to the banking sector have increased significantly. According to data from the Complaints Portal, the increase in dissatisfaction generated a 47% increase in complaints. Consumers complain about the service provided, the service, the lack of customer support, the contractual conditions and the non-compliance.

An analysis carried out by the Portal da Queixa indicates that the number of complaints directed at the banking sector grew by 47%, compared to the same period last year.  Between January 1 and September 23, almost 5,000 complaints were filed against the bank.  In the same period, in 2019, 3304 complaints reached the largest consumer social network in Portugal.
At a time when the banking sector is experiencing days of greater instability and in times of installed economic crisis, the operation of the sector is generating greater discontent among consumers.  From January 1 to September 23, Portuguese banks were the subject of 4,846 complaints registered in the Portal da Queixa.
According to the analysis carried out by the Portal da Queixa team, the main reasons for the complaints presented are related to: poor service provided (26%), service (13%), customer service (10%), contractual conditions (8%) ) and non-compliance rates generated 5% of complaints.

Regarding the banking entities with the highest volume of complaints received, at the top of the table they occupy the first places: Caixa Geral de Depósito (445 complaints), o Banco CTT (295), o Millennium BCP (291) and and Santander Totta (269).

However, regarding the Satisfaction Index -which objectively expresses the performance of the brands in the Complaints Portal based on the interaction with users who presented complaints-, banks stand out on the podium due to their good performance and high Satisfaction. : ActivoBank, Banco CTT and CGD.
