The results of the first phase of the national competition for access to higher education, 2020, were announced on the night of Saturday, September 26. It was the year with the most placements in history: 50,964 students were placed, 15% more than last year, a value that can also be justified by the largest number of vacancies in history: more than 56 thousand.

50.5% of the candidates were placed in their first options, with a growth in the number of students in public and polytechnic institutions, as well as in the coastal and inland regions.

Let’s go to the notes. The two best income averages were registered at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST): Aerospace Engineering ranked last with an average of 191.3 values; the Engineering in Technological Physics course, from the same faculty, had the last student attached to exactly the same value. Third, there was the medical course, at the Abel Salazar Institute, in Porto, where the last student entered with 189.88. Fourth place is, again, from IST: the Applied Mathematics course saw its last student to enter with an average of 188.3.

And the lowest grades? The last place in the Technologies and Design and Multimedia course, at the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, had an average of 95.0. Then, at the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, two more courses with an average of 95.0: Business Management and Social Work.
