Five new cases diagnosed in the last 24 hours in the Azores

The cases detected on the island of São Miguel refer to a 71-year-old female person and a 74-year-old man, residents, who traveled and landed together in the Region from an air connection with the mainland. American, having been diagnosed with Covid-19 in the screening test after the sixth day.

The two cases diagnosed on the island of Pico refer to a male and a female individual, 54 and 17 years old respectively, residents of the Region, who are close contacts of high risk of a newly diagnosed positive case, having been administered prophylactic isolation from identification.

The case detected on Terceira Island refers to a 17-year-old, non-resident, who disembarked in the Region from an air connection with the mainland, who tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 carried out upon arrival and who was diagnosed with Covid-19 in the screening test after the sixth day.

The cases present a stable clinical situation and the procedures defined for the confirmed case, tests and surveillance of close contacts, as well as all those inherent to the deepening of the epidemiological investigation, have already been carried out by the Health Delegations of Concelhias.

Thus, up to now, 282 cases of infection by the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 have been detected in the Region, with 60 active positive cases currently occurring, of which 45 on the island of São Miguel, nine on the island of Terceira, five on the island of Pico and one on the island of Graciosa.
