BOLA – Alcochete Academy changes to Cristiano Ronaldo Academy (Sporting)

Sporting announced this Monday that the Alcochete Academy, where the main team is trained and training football takes place, will change the name to Cristiano Ronaldo Academy.

The club says the initiative aims to honor “the name of the largest symbol ever formed.”

Here is the statement:

«It is a great honor for Sporting Clube de Portugal to report that the Academia do Clube will be renamed the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy.

The good son makes the home and the home that Cristiano Ronaldo made now welcomes his name in honor of the one who became the best Portuguese player of all time, the best player in the world, awarded five Ballon d’Or and captain of the national champion. Europe and the League of Nations.

Cristiano Ronaldo joined the Leonina family in 1997 at the age of 12. On August 14, 2002, at the age of 17, he made his absolute debut against FC Internazionale Milano.

The Academy will thus immortalize the name of the greatest symbol ever formed and that will be an inspiration to follow for all the younger talents.

On the date to be announced, and as soon as conditions permit, the Club will make the official opening.

This tribute is part of a project to recognize various references of the Club, including some of the great talents produced by the Academy, whose training camps will receive their names. This list will be released shortly.

The Cristiano Ronaldo Academy will represent ADN Sporting in its excellence and will follow the destinies of who now gives it its name: to be the best in the world.
