Bruno Fernandes was chosen by Manchester United fans as the player of the 2019/2020 season, thus receiving the Matt Busby award.
The distinction is even more relevant given that the Portuguese international played only half a season, having arrived at the end of January, but his impact on the team was evident, with the fans choosing him several times as player of the month: with only 22 games played, he was elected in February (soon the first), March, June and August, with the “meddling” of
Mason Greenwood in July.
According to the fan vote in the club’s application, Bruno Fernandes, with 35.5 percent of the votes, was ahead of Anthony Martial (34%) and in third place to Marcus Rashford (10.4%).
“First I want to win trophies with the team, but of course I am satisfied with the individual awards. Some may say that they are not relevant, but they are always important to a player. We feel good, I’m very happy and now I want to add more trophies with the club, ”said Bruno.
Bruno Fernandes succeeds Luke Shaw, elected last year and is the first to be elected with only half a season played.
