The available squad went to Lagos (Algarve) without the coach.
The battery of covid-19 tests held this Tuesday in the squad and the Sporting squad detected two more positive cases: one of them is Rúben Amorim, the head coach of the lions. The other is a player.
In this way, the number of infected of the Verdiblanco main team (eight players, Amorim and a member of the squad) amounts to 10, a few days after the match with Gil Vicente -on Saturday-, in reference to the 1st day of the I League.
Rúben Amorim and the new infected player must comply with the quarantine and, therefore, cannot be present at Alvalade’s match.
However, the squad available – players who tested negative – went to Lagos, in the Algarve, where they will practice before the meeting with the gilistas, without Amorim, in a “bubble” of isolation, returning to Lisbon to play the game. Deputy Emanuel Ferro will direct the work.
The 10 cases of covid-19 infection at Sporting are asymptomatic.
