Francisco Teixeira da Mota, one of Rui Pinto’s defense lawyers, who is on trial at the Central Criminal Court of Lisbon, revealed on Tuesday that his client will make new disclosures.
On the margins of the second session of the trial, the lawyer also explained that he does not know when Rui Pinto will make new statements, but assured that he continues to collaborate with the Judicial Police, remaining part of a witness protection program.
The hacker was present in court this morning again with a bulletproof vest, but the protagonist was Aníbal Pinto, a lawyer who is also charged in this case with the crime of extortion in the attempted form. He guaranteed that he was “absolutely calm” and that it was Rui Pinto who suggested the creation of an offshore company to pay for the contract for the provision of services that he intended to establish with Doyen.
“There was nothing left to convict for being a lawyer. In Portugal it is not forbidden to be a lawyer, seek legal solutions or even abandon negotiations when I decide to do so, ”he stressed to the journalists present.
A new session is scheduled for this Wednesday, with the floor to the attendees in the process.
