The General Director of Health, Graça Freitas, today considered a gesture with “low risk” of compliance with contagion with the elbow, which became popular with the covid-19 pandemic.
“Regarding the compliance of the elbows, it is a very fast contact, it does not seem to be a risk because it is fast and people usually wear a mask,” said Graça Freitas, at the usual press conference to update the covid numbers. -19 in Portugal.
The Director General of Health was asked about compliance with the elbow, after the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, advised against this gesture.
Graça Freitas stressed that this gesture seems to “neither contribute nor stop contributing to the evolution of the pandemic”, since it is a contact that “will not run a great risk”.
According to the Director General of Health, a high-risk contact implies a face-to-face confrontation for a longer time.
