Microsoft unveiled the next-generation consoles it was developing for gamers. Thus, not only the Xbox Series X was announced, but the less powerful version of the Xbox Series S and many consumers were dazzled by the team.

But although we already know most of the characteristics of both consoles, we will know in more detail what are the differences between the two models.

Microsoft has invested in the console segment and proof of this is the acceptance and encouragement that consumers show towards the products.

But the Redmond company surprised everyone and everything, since it not only presented the Xbox Series X. Along with the new generation console, Microsoft will launch a less powerful summer already known and called Xbox Series S. But, after all, ¿ what to distinguish?

Following the official announcement of the two new consoles, Microsoft was revealing more information about the team. Thus, he made it clear to consumers what are, in the end, the big differences between the X Series and S Series consoles.

What are the differences between Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S?

From what was already known, the S Series would be a less powerful, more accessible and therefore cheaper version than the X Series. Also, it was visually noted during the announcement that the Xbox Series S is smaller and more compact than the high-end version.

Satya Nadella's company presents the S Series as the smallest Xbox ever, approximately 60% smaller than the Xbox Series X.

Another difference is that while the X Series console was built to run more powerful games, the S Series version aims to make the new gear more accessible to players with fewer possessions.

The hardware architecture of the Xbox Series X is also more robust, but the 'light' version is able to guarantee good performance.

In the following image you can see in detail the differences between the two consoles, since for example the Xbox Series X has a processing capacity of 12.15 TFLOPS, while the Xbox Series S will have 4 TFLOPS. And while the X Series is capable of 4K resolution, the S Series reaches 1440p, and they both reach up to 120 fps.

Xbox Series S will be completely digital

In terms of SSD, the Xbox Series X has a capacity of 1 TB and the Xbox Series S has a capacity of 512 GB. The less powerful version of the console will be fully digital, which means it doesn't have a disc player, like the Xbox One S All-Digital. The X Series model has a 4K UHD Blu-Ray drive.

A performance overview shows that the S Series will get 4 times the processing power of Xbox One. The SSD is powered by Xbox Velocity Architecture, which allows 40 times the I / O bandwidth of Xbox One.

The two consoles will hit the market on November 10, the date of their launch already made official by Microsoft.

The Xbox Series X will cost $ 499 (~ 420 euros) and the Xbox Series S will cost $ 299 (~ 252 euros). However, there is still no information on the official price of the consoles for Portugal.
