There are six new positive cases to report in Madeira. All the cases are imported and were identified during the airport inspection operation. Four arrive from the UK, one from Germany and one from the Czech Republic. On the other hand, there is one more recovered case, so the region now has 138 recovered cases of covid-19.

In summary, there are now 49 active cases in the archipelago, of which 37 are imported cases and 12 are locally transmitted cases. Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 23 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 25 in their own accommodation and one patient is hospitalized in the polyvalent unit dedicated to covid at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.

There are also two new suspected cases that are being studied by health authorities. Laboratory analysis and epidemiological investigations are underway.

With this latest assessment, the Region now represents a cumulative total of 187 confirmed covid-19 cases.

About 100,000 tests

Madeira is very close to reaching the milestone of 100,000 COVID-19 tests. At the end of yesterday, in the SESARAM Clinical Pathology laboratory, 94,055 samples were processed for PCR tests. Only in the context of the passenger control operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, a total of 54,114 harvests are accumulated.

On the other hand, to date, 17,173 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different provinces, of which 7,862 are under active surveillance.

The contacts of the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) total 12,307, plus 35 calls in the last 24 hours and the total number of calls through the IASaúde psychological follow-up line is now 2,127, with 181 people accompanied by professionals of this institute.
