Today, the Algarve has 20 new cases of Covid-19, revealed the General Directorate of Health (DGS) in its epidemiological bulletin this Sunday, September 13.

In accumulated figures since the start of the pandemic, 1,234 people have already been infected with the new coronavirus, in the Algarve region.

In Alentejo, the situation also seems to be complicated, since this Sunday the DGS bulletin points to 60 new cases in this region. The running total is now 1,134.

They are, despite everything, small contributions to the total of new infections registered throughout the country, since yesterday, which reached 673.

Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, with 319 more cases (for a total accumulated numbers of 32 732) and the North, with 236 new cases (total of 23 233) were the regions of the country that contributed the most to this growth.

There was also an increase in the number of deaths, which was 7, 6 of them in the Lisbon region and 1 in the North.

On the other hand, today there are only 175 recovered, bringing to 44,069 the number of people who have already killed Covid-19 in our country.
As for active cases, on a day when new infections greatly exceeded the number recovered, there are 491 more, and the total rises to 18,047.

The number of people admitted to hospitals across the country amounted to 452, 14 more than yesterday’s DGS bulletin. Still, it was a smaller increase than the previous day. Of these, 57 are in the intensive care unit (less 2).

There are currently 36,398 people in contact with surveillance, 343 more than yesterday.
