There is a new positive case to report, this Saturday, in Madeira, a region that now has a cumulative total of 181 confirmed cases of covid-19.

Regarding this new infected, IASaúde clarifies that it is an imported case identified in the control operation at the Madeira airport, in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region. On the other hand, there is one more recovered case, so that the archipelago now has 138 ‘cured’ cases.

On balance, there are currently 43 active cases, of which 31 are imported cases identified in the context of surveillance activities implemented at the Madeira airport and 12 are cases of local transmission.

Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 18 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit and 25 in their own accommodation. There are still six new situations to report that are being studied by the health authorities. Laboratory analyzes and epidemiological investigations are ongoing, says IASaúde.

To date, 17,431 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different counties through the Madeira Safe application, of which 7,952 are under active surveillance.

92,128 tests performed

At the end of September 11, in the SESARAM Clinical Pathology laboratory, 92,128 samples were processed for PCR tests. In the context of the traveler control operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, there is a cumulative total of 58,480 covid-19 test harvests carried out (as of 5:30 p.m. today).
