The special edition of the Volta a Portugal has an individual time trial to open and another to close, respectively, in Fafe, on September 27, and in Lisbon, on October 5.

The route, divided into eight stages for a total of 1,183.9 kilometers, includes ascents to Senhora da Graça and Torre in the second and fourth stages.

Originally scheduled for the period between July 29 and August 9, the Vuelta a Portugal 2020 was finally canceled, and the Portuguese Cycling Federation opted for a special edition of the race.

Here is the route of the Volta special edition:

Foreword (September 27), Fafe – Fafe, 7 km (CRI).

Stage 1 (September 28), Montalegre – Santa Luzia (Viana do Castelo), 180 km.

2nd Stage (September 29), Paredes – Senhora da Graça (Mondim de Basto), 167 km.

Stage 3 (September 30), Felgueiras – Viseu, 171.9 km.

Stage 4 (October 1), Guarda – Torre (Covilhã), 148 km.

Stage 5 (October 2), Oliveira do Hospital – Águeda, 176.3 km.

Stage 6 (October 3), Caldas da Rainha – Torres Vedras, 155 km.

7th Stage (October 4), Loures – Setúbal, 161 km.

Stage 8 (October 5), Lisbon – Lisbon, 17.7 km (CRI).
