THE BALL – Toni Martínez signs today, Evanilson (FC Porto) has arrived

Today is the day of the goal: Evanilson (20 years old), hired by Fluminense, landed this morning in Pedras Rubras to make official the five-year link with FC Porto. And it is quite likely that the young Brazilian striker will be at the Dragon with Toni Martínez, his future partner and who shone last season as a forward for Famalicão.

This is because the 23-year-old Spaniard is expected this morning at the SAD Porto offices to sign a contract that will have exactly the same duration as Evanilson’s: valid until June 30, 2025.

Common denominator in the two operations: Jorge Mendes, precisely the same agent who had already negotiated the acquisition of the left-handed back Zaidu from Santa Clara this closed season -this purchase was completed for four million euros- plus the millionaire sale (40 million euros) by Fábio Silva and the transfer of Vítor Ferreira to Wolverhampton – for the record: the English club was contractually obliged to exercise until the end of the new season the mandatory clause to purchase the midfielder for 20 million euros.
